London folk are in town

Posted on: February 19, 2009

The up-and-coming quartet Mumford and Sons are headlining the Little Civic in Wolverhampton this evening supported by Brighton’s  Sons of Noel and Adrian. I’ll be there checking them out for the first time tonight – come with?

Who are they?

  • Ben Lovett (keyboards, organ)
  • Ted Dwayne (double bass)
  • Winston Marshall (banjo, dobro)
  • Marcus Mumford (vocals, guitar, drums)

They emerged in 2007  from the same London folk scene as the magnificent Mercury nominee Laura Marling and Noah and the Whale.

Melonz fact: Frontman Marcus is actually Marling’s drummer!

Tickets

Still available for only £7  from Wolves Civic

If you can’t make it tonight, catch them in:

I’ll update tomorrow with pics and words of praise no doubt.
